Is Surfing Still Possible? Yes, but under more difficult conditions. Surfers now have to either enter the wave by letting them drift in from further upstream or take more complicated climbing approaches by carefully climbing along the new fence to reach the end part where one can barely stand on the stone. Some surfers put their board onto the water, stepping on it with one foot and pulling themselves with one foot on the board and one foot on the wall along the two new fence segments.  The new fence may not only affect safety but could also lead to a decline in surfing activity at the E2 wave as the start has been made much harder.
